50 CENT - GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN’

A common question from an artist or label revolves around the best way to bring their archive content up to 21st century standards. This recent project showcases it perfectly.

Vanderquest remastered all of the music videos from this groundbreaking album to HD. These were released weekly, culminating in a full ‘back to negative’ film restoration to 4K for the multi-million unit selling hit “IN DA CLUB”. This was released by Universal Music Group to celebrate joining the milestone BILLION views club on YouTube.

Hours of original 35mm film reels were scanned at 4K resolution and we carefully shot-matched the original edit. VFX were recreated and the finished edit was graded in DaVinci Resolve. The final stages of restorating included dirt removal and grain reduction to achieve the client’s desired look.

The project also involved creating social media assets for the artist to post with each release.
