Aspect Ratio Conversion

A lot of television sets sold today are widescreen with 16:9 displays as compared to 4:3 displays of conventional Televisions. The majority of programmes made today are produced in the 16:9 format, so if ‘old archive’ footage is to be included in these programmes it may need to be Aspect Ratio Converted or ‘ARC’d’
